Week 1: Day 3

Hello everyone!

It’s so weird to think that I’ve been a missionary for only three days when I’ve learned so much! It's most definitely been the most exciting journey so far, but also the most tiring.

I got set apart Sunday morning by my super awesome stake president, such a holy and exciting experience. I felt God's love for me and my family, and I know for sure that I'm doing what He wants me to do. For you missionaries who have already been set apart, you know what I'm talking about. Future missionaries- buckle up because your heart just can't prepare for the joy and love you will feel. Because it's the best. thing. ever.

Sooo many things have happened to me in the past couple days:

-Got set apart as a missionary (yay!)

-Said bye to my family (not yay.)

-Went down to St. George for HMTC with Grandma and Grandpa

-Woke up from Grandmas scary shower at 5:15 (iykyk)

-Tried Gma and Gpas cool treadmill (I went to tokyo and hawaii, also didn't know that treadmills couldnt be boring)

-Had 9 hours of classes

-Set up my first appointments to teach

-Gave bampa the best shirt ever- and he loves it

-Had bampas birthday dinner and probably gained 10 pounds and am proud of it

-Went shopping in Grandma’s territory (costco)

-Pondered with my eyes closed because I don't take naps;)

My companion is sister Demmerly! I love her! She too is going to Oklahoma, so she will be with me until I meet my trainer! I won't lie, it's been a little bit of a rocky start, her dentist messed up and didn't get all of her wisdom teeth out… so she got them out yesterday! I was a bit confused why she left in the middle of the first class, but we got her caught up in companion study this morning.

My family and dog are on the plane right now on their way to Amsterdam. They should get there around 1 am Utah time. I'm so thankful that they could take our dog, and fit all of their belongings under the weight limit. God has most definitely been watching over them in every step of the way.

Savannah’s still in Utah so if you see her, give her a big hug! (If you're feeling extra nice, I ate her gluten free oreos so she'll need some… sorry sav)

One thing I've really had on my mind is how aware God is of all of us. There is no way that I alone could have made it the past three days without His help. Today in my personal studies I read in preach my gospel that when we are doing the Lord's work, we are "endowed with power" from on high. Even if you’re not a missionary, God is waiting to help you with whatever you need help with! Reach out to Him in everything you do, and I promise that you will feel His love and support! Moses 1:39 says  “For behold, this is my work and my glory —to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.” That’s God’s purpose, to bring enlightenment, love, and happiness to His children. I invite you all to think of something that God has done for you that makes you happy, and I’d love to hear from all of you!

Read your scriptures, pray, and go do something that makes you happy this week! God loves you all and so do I!
