Unpopular Opinion: Shrek Should Be Canadian

Hey Everyone!!

Wow, what a YEAR this week has been! I’m in the Provo MTC now, and lemme tell ya, this much fun should be illegal or something. By the end of my stay I will fosho have a six pack from laughing so hard.

BUT FOR REAL GUYS!! Shrek should be Canadian… just imagine, “Donkey, eh?” I’m ready to debate this with y’all. A girl in my district is from Alberta, Canada and she gets absolutely roasted every day. We’ve all started to talk in a Canadian accent and it’s just the best thing ever. I’ve learned the Canadian national Anthem, but no worries, Murica has my heart always.

Also, who said the MTC cafeteria food was good? If I wasn’t Christlike I would sue….Maybe it’s just the fact that I have a stellar cook for a mother, but hey it’s okay at least the Chocolate Milk is pretty good.

All jokes aside, it’s been a crazy week. About half of my district is sick, and some have been in and out of isolation. So pray for District 8-P cuz we are struggling.

All jokes aside, this has been the happiest I’ve been in my life. My heart is so full, my mind is clear, and my spirit is being fed every second of the day. I love my district with my whole heart, they are seriously my family.

Some highlights of the week:

played some games with the district, not competitive of course;)

Had an entire concert singing in the shower with Sister Saddler

Had a mega hype burping competition with the sisters…(of course I won)

Went to the temple, it was seriously the best

met a cool guy named ed, a stud I tell ya

One thing I wanted to focus on was my arrival at the MTC.

Gramma was sick, so it was just me and Bampa driving up North. We had some good chats, and after eating with Bryn and Sav, we made our way to Provo. It was snowing so much!

In the parking garage, we didn’t have too much time to say goodbye, it was pretty quick. I was walking away with my suitcases, crying and feeling a bit overwhelmed, and I saw Sister Marks from down the street. It felt like Heavenly Father was watching out for me. I gave her a big hug, and then cried again as I was walking away haha.

All of a sudden, a bunch of polynesian dudes come running up to me, shaking both of my hands. They welcomed me, took my suitcases, one took my backpack off my back and threw it up a whole flight of stairs, and I forgot all about the five minutes prior. I have never had a better welcoming in my entire life. It was so epic.

Usually when I try something new, I feel really nervous, but that was the last thing I felt. I felt so confident and overwhelmed with the spirit. I know for a fact that I am exactly where I need to be. And I am more than excited to see what God has in store for me.

Spiritual Thought:

My first night at the MTC we had a devotional. We learned about how in Christ’s darkest times, He turned outwards and focused on other people instead of turning inwards and focusing on himself.

Our lives are so challenging. There is no such thing as an easy life. But when we look outwards and focus on how we can make others happy, our lives are filled with meaning.

I have so many examples of that in my life, and so many people to look up to in that way. Thank you so much for all that you’ve done for me.

This week read any chapter of the New Testament, I would recommend Matthew 4, or Luke 22. Think of ways this week that you can help others, regardless of what is going on in your life. I pinky promise it will help you with your life as well as the person you choose to serve.

Well, if you’re still reading this you're a real one haha. Definitely not all I have for this week but this’ll have to do.

Remember Jesus loves you and so do I!!
