Tri-Zone Conference!!
Hello everyone!!!
Oh my goodness this week was absolutely insane. HAPPY DECEMBER!! Christmas is right around the corner and I could not be happier.
We had Tri-Zone Conference this week! We had so many spiritual uplifting talks and trainings. For those who don’t know, Zone Conference is basically where a big group of missionaries gather together at the church or somewhere and get pumped up and motivated about the work, and to receive revelation for yourself as a missionary and as a companionship. The church building was pretty cool, it looked like a 70s log cabin haha. We talked about being more bold in inviting people to be baptized, and to bring up baptism in every encounter with people. So my comps and I will be working on that.
After the meeting ended we were just talking and this Elder comes up to me and goes “Hey! I know you!” It startled me so bad haha y’all know how easily I get jump scared. I read his nametag and I remembered him too. He was in my fourth grade class, and he told me that he remembered me for my kindness and sense of humor haha. I never thought I was a memorable person, so it felt really good to hear that from someone.
We got Edwin AND Toni on date for baptism this week!!! As of right now, we will have 3 baptisms in the month of December. We have 5 people on date right now!! By the end of this upcoming week we will (hopefully) have added one more person on date. So PLEASE pray for Eric. But the number won’t change because NORMA IS GETTING BAPTIZED ON SATURDAY!!! WHAAHOO!!
Highlights:
-an old man in the ward gave us flowers, it was so cute
-we got 2 new friends!! Neva and Harold
had the FUNNIEST member dinners
-Saw the prettiest sunsets and sunrises, pictures don't do any justice...
-had a conversation with someone who only spoke spanish. I felt prompted to go up to him while street contacting, and Sis Sody wrote up something on Google Translate and I introduced us in spanish as missionaries. I’m telling ya, the gift of tongues is real haha. Was it perfect? Heck no! But good enough to get his phone number, and now the Hermanas are teaching him!!
Spiritual Thought:
Elder Peter M. Johnson of the Seventy is here! He spoke to us on Saturday night for adults, and Sunday for Stake Conference. He talked about wherever and whoever you are right now is EXACTLY where God needs you. We are “perfectly positioned” by God to minister to His children.
He talked about “falling in love with Jesus”. Everything good comes from Jesus, so why wouldn’t you fall in love with Him? When we are imperfect, The Perfect One stands in our place. He gave up HIS life, so that we could enjoy ours. He wants us to learn of Him! Did you know that on average, every 1.7 verses in the Book of Mormon mention Christ?
This week, I want everyone to read ONE chapter of the Book of Mormon and HIGHLIGHT whenever it mentions Christ (He has many names in the scriptures, so pay attention to that). See what it does for you and your relationship with Him. I know it will help you! It has definitely helped me. Let me know how it goes! I love it when y’all tell me about what you’ve learned!!
Have an awesome week! Remember that God loves you and so do I!!
