Funny Okies
Hey y’all!!
What a crazy good week filled with shenanigans, miracles, and funny okies.
Toni got baptized, whoohoo! So many miracles happened that day, it was insane. Toni is an 81 year old who has had 3 brain aneurysms, died and came back to life, and has Dementia. That right there is enough stress for the day. Everything that happened was so out of the water not what the average missionary experiences on baptism day, (if you’re that curious, you can email me and I’ll tell ya) but we know that we had God on our side haha. Sis Sody played the uke and I sang, and overall it was a beautiful service. Sister Williams took us to Braums to celebrate after, and told us basically the entire history of the business. Good day.
Highlights:
☆We had a Tri-Zone Conference this week! We talked about the Holy Ghost and making sacred covenants. It was awesome!!
☆One of our friends pulled up anti right in the middle of our lesson, but still wants to meet with us…we have some choices to make with that one so pray for us please haha.
☆People in our apartment complex are starting to catch on that if we can’t have celestial parking, one of us has to be outside while the other is backing the car up. We had people stop what they were doing because they wanted to back us up:)
☆Got stood up for a lesson at a coffee shop, it felt like being stood up for a date… but it’s okay, because he rescheduled and we got cake pops.
☆Someone asked, “Aren’t Mormons the ones who hate the military?” I said, “I sure hope not, cuz I’m an Army Brat, and that would be awkward.”. Then she offered me wine, which I politely declined.
☆Rode my bike for the first time this week! Haha everyone told me that I would be riding my bike every day, but not in Norman!! Sister Sody got a flat tire, so it was kind of rough haha.
Spiritual thought:
So we have a friend named Harold. He's preparing for baptism in February! We are so excited for him! He needed some help moving apartments, and while we were doing that we talked a little about the Word of Wisdom. He had coffee and tea in his home, but he said that he would stop drinking it all. We asked if there’s any way we could help, and he told us to flat out go through his house, and anything that doesn’t line up with God’s will we have permission to take it away. We RAIDED his kitchen and came out with a box of everything that would keep him from getting baptized.
I think of Christ’s disciples when I think of that experience. They left their nets straight away and followed Christ when He asked them to. Harold left one of his nets, and he will be greatly blessed by it, even though it will be hard. Let us all be a little bit more like Harold and drop one of our nets. It could be Word of Wisdom matters, it could be certain things we do and say. I know that if y’all find a net to drop, that God will see your efforts and He will bless you greatly.
Have an awesome blossom week! I love you all!
Sister Jenni<3
