Sister Allen!!
Happy New Year Y’all!!
On Wednesday we had transfers. Sister Okie left for Texas, but we got Sister Allen for a couple of days since her companion is sick. Boy is she a hoot. We have had so much fun together. I want her to be my comp in the future so badly. We are trying to convince President, but the Lord has the final say.
We put Harold on date!! February 4th, mark your calendars haha. We had a lesson scheduled on Tuesday, no show. We called, no answer. The next day we got a text from a different number saying that his phone broke, and this was his new number. We had an opening for that night, so we rescheduled. Showed up at the church, no sign of Harold. No answer either. We were starting to get really scared, so we prayed really hard for some kind of miracle to happen. The next morning a third number called us. HAROLDS PHONE BROKE 2 TIMES IN 3 DAYS. Talk about fiery darts of the adversary. But we got to meet with him and we are just so excited.
Highlights:
-Sister Allen hit 2 curbs in under an hour (totally throwing her under the bus)
-New years! Totally didn't stay up until midnight…;)
-Had some awesome street contacting sessions. Met 2 Lauren's in one day!
-Talked with Anne from the old folks home about her life. She's just the sweetest
-James from the old folks home was trying to flirt with Sister Allen… and then he called me a bad word and Sister Sody a parrot…
-Got matching pedicures with my comps, we have a blast on p days
-Had the craziest weather. In this past week it's hit 70⁰, we've had a freeze warning, rained super hard and a tornado watch. Currently on another tornado watch now. Fun!
-Realized that this is my last week as a teenager. Goodness I'm old…
We have a new friend, Amara! Let's just say she's had a rough past. Just a little sliver of it- She has 2 boys, and just gave birth to a little girl that had to be put up for adoption. Luckily, the parents of the baby's new parents are in our ward! And is letting her and her boys stay in their house. They want to all be a family, which is just so awesome. She had no idea who God was at all, so we got to teach her! It was a very emotional time for all of us.
Spiritual thought:
During Amara's lesson, we taught her how God is mindful of us. We read Alma 26:37 which reads, "Now my brethren, we see that God is mindful of every people, whatsoever land they may be in; yea, he numbereth his people, and his bowels of mercy are over all the earth. Now this is my joy, and my great thanksgiving; yea, and I will give thanks unto my God forever. Amen."
I just want to once again testify that we can experience joy in the fact that God is aware of us and loves us all. Just know that yall are loved, and constantly watched over by God and His angels!
Have an awesome blossom week!! I love you all so much!!
