"I Will Not Leave You Comfortless"
Hey y’all,
This week has been all over the place, I’ll start off with some happy things first:
☆went to Lake Thunderbird to make some visits. The lake was a total let down, the locals call it Lake Dirtybird…
☆Had my first ACTUAL tornado. It touched down in Norman, about 5 miles away from where we were just on the other side of town. Slight damage, but we just got the 80 mph winds!
☆I'm not so sure why, but everyone here spray paints their lawns a blueish-green. If anyone has any ideas why I'd love to hear them.
This week I received some hard news that a dear friend of mine, Erica Maestas, took her life. Anyone who had the chance to know her will always be so greatly blessed. She was on my xc/track team, was in a couple of my dance groups, and spent some hours in the library with me as a homework buddy. I loved her sense of humor, love for fashion, and her way of making others feel loved. She will be greatly missed. Please keep the Maestas family in your prayers.
Today my spiritual thought comes from John 14.
1-Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. …
18- I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. …
27- Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Obviously this week has been a tough one for me. Grieving a loss, plus the stresses of daily life can leave us feeling overwhelmed, unmotivated, and any other feelings that associate with the adversary. Over the past couple days, I have felt just as much peace as chaos, and just as much joy as sorrow. I know that Jesus Christ has not left me comfortless, and He has blessed me to know that Erica- along with any other family and friends- are in a safe and happy place, and that they will rise again.
Regardless of what you are going through, Jesus Christ knows your pain, your joys, every little thing. Turn to Him in everything you do.
Love you all so much.
