The Good News!
Howdy Howdy!
GENERAL CONFERENCE WAS THE BEST!! As a missionary, you have the ability to not only receive revelation for yourself, but for your friends as well. It was amazing, and I can’t wait to use the insights I gained this week.
What is everyone’s favorite general conference tradition? We went to the Jensen’s house during the Sunday Afternoon session, and they adopted Sister Snelgrove's tradition of putting an Apostle’s name on every snack and when it was their turn to speak, everyone ate the snack. It was hilarious seeing their 11 year old girl get super excited when it was time for the Prophet to speak (he was the red vines…). I’m definitely using that with my future family. General Conference will be bigger than the SuperBowl in my home:)
Highlights:
☆met President Monson's cousin while making visits
☆made a cute little sunshine basket for Kenzie, she's had a rough week.
☆made 13 lcr visits in under 4 hours, it was exhausting and so rewarding. We found 2 unbaptized families that we are now teaching.
☆had a hoot and a half at Bingo. I'm a little stressed about my future. I talk to the elderly all the time (90% of the people I associate with). I don't talk to people my own age, but with the oldies I've got it down!
☆had a nice in-between conference picnic!!
☆made cinnamon rolls that ended up rising in 72 degrees for 5 hours… they were HUGE
☆Listened to the Sunday Morning Conference session with the Spanish Branch. We had the cool translator headphones, and after all of the members tried talking to us and we just nodded and smiled. I just said “hola” and “no hablo”. They laughed at me and literally everyone gave us hugs, it was cute.
MIRACLE!!!
During Walk Louie Wednesday, we were walking across a cul de sac, and we saw a lady with 2 kids. We didn’t feel a specific impression to talk to them (they weren’t the only people out) God was trusting us enough to choose. We ended up going, and the mom at first was a little shy. She asked who we were with, and as soon as we said we were missionaries, she perked right up. She said, “Oh I love Mormons!!” She told us that she used to feed the missionaries and they would teach her. They stopped coming, and she never knew why.
Her daughter had said 2 days before that she missed the missionaries and that she wanted them to come over again. She said it was a miracle that we found them again. Angie asked if we could come back and start teaching them again. She took a picture of us to send to our moms. “I’m a mom, and I hope other moms would do the same for me!” They were in Dallas for the weekend, but we will start teaching them this week.
Spiritual thought:
In case y’all didn’t notice, there was quite the theme of invitations given.
READ 3 NEPHI 11 EVERYONE!! IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!!
Also, I love the April 2022 “The Good News” #becauseofHim Easter video.
Go watch it, then spread the Good News!! Christ Lives!!
That’s all I have to say:)
Hope y’all have a blessed week! If you’d like to pray for anything, pray that all 15 of our lessons this week won’t fall through, we are working so hard to be able to split Norman 2/4, 4th ward is REALLY picking up. (It’s secretly been my goal since I got here haha and it’s bound to happen next transfer.)
Love y’all,
Sister Jenni<3
