"You Two Look Like Sisters"
Oh my goodness, what a week. I have never been so tired, so excited, and so ready for a 5 day nap in my life. But it’s all worth it because THE GLASCOS ARE GETTING BAPTIZED THIS WEEK!!!
Highlights:
☆Said bye to Sister Lee… But hello to Sister Rasmussen! I’m so excited for what this transfer will bring us! Everyone says we look like sisters so that's cool.
☆2nd night of the transfer, we had a thunderstorm warning- no big deal. In a span of 15 minutes it turned into a tornado watch, then a tornado warning, by then it was too late to go into our weather contact, so we ended up going to the Hermanas apt and had a night full of Uno, learning spanish slang, and freaking out because we couldn’t go to bed until everyone in our zone was safe (since we are the stls, we report to President) and no surprise the Zone Leaders fell asleep so we didn’t go to bed until 1:30…
☆made a new friend named Amya! She is so cute and told us that she wants to learn more about God. Please pray for her!!
☆had MLC, oh it was so fun, and so good to see all of my friends and past companions. ☆We got a new car! It drives SUPER weird, I have a really hard time with the gears, so pray that I don’t wreck this 2023 Nissan please;)
My spiritual thought this week comes from a training given by President Hugues during MLC. We talked about the similarities between John 6 (Loaves and Fishes to the five thousand) and John 21 (Feed my sheep).
In John 6, we focused on the lad with 5 loaves of bread, and 2 fish. He must have been feeling so inadequate and so nervous! But he gave all that he had, and Christ took his offering and made it not only enough, but MORE than enough.
In John 21, Christ is talking to Simon, who was a fisherman. He asked Simon if he loved Him, to feed His Sheep. President told us that we need to be like Peter. He knew how to fish, but not how to feed lambs. Despite any anxieties that he felt, he followed Christ. He loved Christ more than his comfort, and more than any insecurity or feeling of inadequacy that he had.
Do we love Christ more than our trials and insecurities? That’s something I’m still working on for sure. Just like the lad, I know I don’t have too much to give, but I don’t let that stop me, or weaken my confidence as a missionary.
Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. We are promised that as long as we give everything to Him, the people who we need to serve will have more than enough, and so will we♡
I hope everyone has a blessed week! Stay safe, and remember that Jesus loves you!
