4th Of July!
Wow. This week. But first off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!! The 4th of July is my favorite holiday, so this was a good week for me!
Highlights for this week:
☆We started teaching this guy named Pumba, then found out he was a "do not contact" in another ward, so that was fun. We had a lot of uncozy situations with him over the weekend, but it’s all worked out. Our district is now doing a “Do Not Contact” list in case this happens again.
☆Had free watermelon on the fourth so that was cool.
☆Wore matching dresses to Zone Conference, President said we were cuties haha I felt like I was 12. But hey we had to show the Zones what comp unity looked like. ☆had the best exchange with Sister Liddiard, we held a pig.
☆Had an awesome exchange with Sister Stout, we biked 8 miles in 102⁰ weather hehe.
☆did some research, our ward boundaries is as big as Delaware!!
☆had a conversation with a lady using broken Spanish and a game of charades, and she was interested! We got her phone number and sent it straight to the Hermanas because Sister Rassy and I are Sisters for a reason.
Miracles!
So first of all, a goal that I’ve been working on is following the Spirit, and listening to promptings right away. I’ll just say that I’ve had a couple of cool chances to work on that!
♡Oh my goodness so let’s go back a couple weeks, I was serving at a place called “Loaves and fishes” basically where you help the needy shop for groceries. It’s kinda cool anywho, I helped a lady named Crystal, who was sooo nice. Nursing student, younger mom of 3. Fast forward to July 3, we were biking and I had a prompting to go to a specific house, and it turned out to be hers. AND SHE ACTUALLY REMEMBERED MY NAME!! (no she wasn’t cheating, she couldn’t see my name tag.) We talked for a while, and hopefully we get to start teaching her cute family soon!!
♡This one is cool. So on the 4th, we didn’t really know what to do because most people were just partying. So we prayed, and I thought of a certain street. We went to that street to walk around, and lots of water bottles, a visit to the sober living, and an hour of nothing later, we were kinda confused so we went back to the car. We look at our “Preach my Gospel” app, and saw that someone sent us a referral!! AND HE LIVED ON THAT STREET. We were able to visit him, we set up an invitation for an hour later, came back, the Spirit was soooo strong, and HE IS ON BAPTISMAL DATE FOR AUGUST 12!!! So please pray for Andy, he is elect!!
I have a big love for Zone Conference, President Hugues trained on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Of course us as missionaries, we teach this all day. The first Principles of the Gospel are Faith, Repentance, Baptism, The Gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End.
But he reminded us that we can’t teach beyond our own conversion. So here’s just a couple of my thoughts:
•Do I have the faith that Jesus Christ’s Atonement works 98% of the time, or 100% of the time? Sometimes it’s hard to apply the Atonement in our own lives, but easy to invite people to apply it to theirs.
•We are all on the road of repentance! One of my favorite scriptures that President shared with us is Mosiah 23:9-11 which reads,
9 But remember the iniquity of king Noah and his priests; and I myself was caught in a snare, and did many things which were abominable in the sight of the Lord, which caused me sore repentance; 10 Nevertheless, after much tribulation, the Lord did hear my cries, and did answer my prayers, and has made me an instrument in his hands in bringing so many of you to a knowledge of his truth. 11 Nevertheless, in this I do not glory, for I am unworthy to glory of myself.
Alma’s testimony of repentance brings me so much peace. Repentance is such a happy thing. We are made worthy only through Christ.
•EVERYONE!! This week, ask the Holy Ghost to remind you of your baptism if you’ve been baptized. It’s a sweet experience.
•We all need to continue to learn and grow our spiritual muscles!!
I am so thankful for my mission, this week has been so chaotic. But I am so thankful for this opportunity to serve God.
Have an awesome blossom week! Love y’all!
