Saviors On Mount Zion
OKAY! Buckle up because this is by far one of the most unhinged weeks of my mission. Also happy Valentine's day!
Usually I hate doing “day by day” but I think I'm gonna do that since I'm still trying to process things.
Thursday- such a fun exchange with Sister Knight, and I ran into a wall on my bike and got a mega bruise on my thigh.
Friday- p day, we went to the temple, and President called me and asked if I would be willing to go BACK TO NORMAN 24 for and emergency transfer. Of course I said yes. I'm going from one trainee to another! I'll be finishing Sister Herbst's training!!!
Saturday- went to Norman and figured out why I got ETed… it’s a little crazy, but I know that God is aware of me, and that He is in the little details.
Best epic fail:
Sister Knight laughed so hard during our exchange that she had to use her inhaler. I LOVE to laugh, even if events of the day literally took Sister Knight’s breath away…
Honorable mentions:
♡reunited with some of my favorite people in the whole world. I love Norman so much!
♡I have a Valentine…baby Hudson gave us a rose and a cute little card. Love the Dummers!
♡there have been so many miracles that have happened here in Norman. Seeds that were planted while I was here last time have grown, and I'm so happy to be able to see them
♡saw all of my precious friends from Bingo, happy theyre still alive
♡had my yearly dr pepper and kit kat to remember someone special to my family, I love the Plan of Salvation
♡Sister Herbst graduated!! I am SO proud of her.
This week has been so hard, but my heart is so full. I know that God loves me, and has a plan for me and others around me.
On Friday night we took our recent convert, Judd, to the temple for the first time. He got to perform a baptism for his mom, it brought me so much pure joy.
One thing that the temple presidency said in their little devotional before was that we were being “Saviors on Mount Zion” by doing ordinances for people who couldn’t do them for themselves. (For reference, you can look in the Book of Obadiah and Doctrine and Covenants 103). I have such a deep love for temple work because of the Savior. He has already done for me what I could never do for myself. Without Him I have nothing, and with Him I have the chance to have everything.
I absolutely love being the hands and feet of Jesus, it’s the best opportunity I could ever be given in this life. My invitation for y’all this week is to find ways to serve this week. Whether it’s in the temple, at home, or in your community.
I’d also love to invite those who have yet to serve a mission for the Lord to pray to know if that's in God's plan for you. It will change your life, I promise. If you have any questions or concerns about a mission, please email me and I'd love to help!
I love you all so much, have a wonderful week. Jesus loves you!
