Yoke Yourself To Christ:)

Wow. It feels like years since I’ve written an email. But here we are. 



☆Went on exchanges with the best Sister ever! Sister Reiser is amazing, we had an absolute blast together.

☆Ate some good Cracker Barrel. I don’t eat to live, I live to eat so that was a good day. 

☆Had some BOMB Peruvian snacks, the Armacanqui family never fails to disappoint when they are hosts. We watch slideshows of their life in Peru, and talk about the Gospel. Love it. 



On Monday night, our Mission President reintroduced us to the OOCM’s “Standard’s of Excellence”. After counseling with the MLC, it’s been decided that we will have these standards at the forefront of our minds and will accomplish them. These standards are:

-Each companionship help at least one person bind himself/herself to Christ through baptism per month.

-Each companionship find at least one new friend every day.

-Have members join us in at least 90% of all our lessons with our friends.

-Each companionship have at least two new friends come to sacrament meeting every week.



It was SUCH a cool meeting because I’ve been thinking about these standards and have been trying to abide by them for WEEKS now. I love these standards, and know that the mission is more than capable of them.

President said that all of these will be made possible if we are “yoked” with Christ. He reminded us that, “When we yoke ourselves with the Savior, our power is unlimited.” 

Too big of a coincidence to be a coincidence, my bestie past companion (that’s home now) told me that she has been trying to yoke herself to Christ, too! She asked herself what more can she let Christ do in her life, and I think that’s a great thought because Christ is the best leader, teacher, and friend. If we yoke ourselves to Him and let Him lead, that’s when our power is unlimited. 

Of course I’m giving an invitation, and it is to think to yourself how you can yoke yourself to Christ in your everyday life. I promise that as you do, your daily life will be so much better because you have Christ by your side and in your mind always.

Hey y’all!     This has been quite. the. week.      Highlights: -got to see Sister Demmerly at mission tour! -Got to spend some time with Ann at Bingo -Had a ward Christmas party, all of the primary girls decorated cookies and gave them to me. And they waited for me to eat them…. it’s so good to see that they look up to me, and want me to get obese.  -had a Christmas devotional with the whole mission -Sister Okie drew me the best picture ever of me and Morgan Wallen, and Sister Sody told a story based on the picture. Funniest comp bonding ever:) -Held the CUTEST puppy ever named Lola.     So on Friday, we were in the middle of teaching Toni. The lesson was pretty good, when all of a sudden the biggest BOOM happened. Like the blinds and doors were shaking in the house. And there was the brightest light that flashed. (Now I’ve been in Missouri during huge thunderstorms, I thought I’ve seen and heard it all.) I thought that WW3 was starting. No joke....

Longest Week EVER!!!

Hey y’all!! Oh. My. Goodness. I changed my P-day because I’m going the the temple today. I’m so happy to be going to the Lord’s house with Norma-Jean, but tell ya what I am TIRED!!! But in the best way;) Its been a kind of slow week and a half, the roads are COVERED with ice so we have not been allowed to drive. So that means: 1. doing all of our work over the phone… 2. begging members to give us rides 3. walking everywhere we go  Soooo this week we…. -did over 60 hours of phone work -had ALL of our lessons cancel on us -more than half of our member meals canceled on us -we ran out of food, money, and miles -I made sister sody so jealous because everyones little kids come and give me the biggest hug, then just stare at her…and it always happens to the people who we’ve never met. She says it’s a spiritual gift haha.  -got my fingernails painted by Dallas’ little girl named Haven.  -got our hair cut by sister kern, she’s from Salem and I had NO IDEA!! -watched “why I believ...

Hey y’all! What a week! Hope you all had a happy Halloween! I love being a missionary.  My district and I joke that it’s giving us a sliver of what being a new parent is like.  You go to bed tired, you wake up tired, all day you’re tired. But it’s okay, because you love it!!  -My family made it to Italy! They love it! Must be quite the adventure having no car, no house, and having a loaf of bread cost nearly $10…  -I have spent over 50 hours on the computer between classes, lessons, and zoom meetings with my district and my companion.  -I taught my first lesson! It’s starting to feel so real and I’m loving every minute of it.  -Had the ward trunk or treat… I love halloween so of course I had to dress up… -Had chicken and rice for dinner! I’m telling you, any type of chicken is a food that makes me proud to be an American.  -Probably drank half of my body weight of lemonade and chocolate milk… don’t worry mom. Nama and Bampa are taking good care of me! ...
