More Miracles♡

Howdy, y’all! What a week. A member told me that they saw an alligator in Oklahoma and now I’m a little nervy. I thought I was safe from them… (They're one of my irrational fears, I have nightmares about them like once a week. If someone wants to google that and tell me what that means I’d love to hear about it.)

We strive to make at least one new friend a day, and one day it was getting dark and we still hadn’t made a friend. There was a referral that we had a hard time getting a hold of, but we decided that we would try to find her apartment and talk to her. We couldn’t find her apartment, but after praying, I felt the strongest impression to just start knocking doors. We don’t really knock doors in this mission, but we wanted a miracle and got moving. We picked a building and knocked on every door looking for Danielle. But after a lot of, “I don’t know Danielle” and “leave me alone, I’ve got my church”, we got to the last door. We said a prayer for whoever was in the apartment and then knocked. Lo and behold, it was Marie, who is Danielle’s grandmother. She invited us in, and we started to teach her! She is ELECT. Danielle doesn’t live there anymore, but we are SO excited to be teaching Marie. That was a reminder to me that God wants us to seek and expect those miracles, and they’re waiting for us. We’ve just got to do our part by having faith and putting in the necessary work to show God that we are ready to receive blessings.

On Friday, we went to Panera after District Council for lunch and we saw Uncle Joe! He insisted that he buy us lunch, and we got to talk and minister to him. Even though he and his wife have different beliefs than us, we are so thankful for their hospitality towards us, and we are always able to have a respectful and uplifting conversation with them. I love them!

This week in my studies I was reading about the member’s part of sharing the Gospel. As missionaries, we wear Christ’s name on a tag, but every member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints promises to wear Christ’s name on their heart. There are so many blessings that come with becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ and taking part of His Great Commission. Some that I read were peace, love, knowledge, power from God, a remission of your sins, and safety. I know that all of these are of the Spirit, and all of them come when we show God that we want to serve Him.

Elder Gary E. Stevenson said: “There are hundreds of invitations we can extend to others. We can invite others to ‘come and see’ a sacrament service, a ward activity, an online video that explains the gospel of Jesus Christ. ‘Come and see’ can be an invitation to read the Book of Mormon or visit a new temple during its open house prior to its dedication. Sometimes the invitation is something we extend inward—an invitation to ourselves, giving us awareness and vision of opportunities surrounding us to act upon”

There are so many ways to love, share, and invite! This week’s invitation is to find a way to share the light of Christ with someone. I’d love to hear how it goes! I know that blessings come to those who are trying. God loves effort!

Thanks for all the support!

God loves you and so do I!
