Swift Messengers♡
Happy Wednesday everyone!
What a week in the work of the Lord! So much happened, but honestly I can't remember haha.
☆ We made 7 new friends this week! It really showed me what can happen when we yoke ourselves to Christ and believe in Him!
☆ We had a mall p-day with the sisters in my district!
☆ The Blaylock family had us over for Family Home Evening, and we taught the lesson part. Cory was with us, so we did the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It was so special, and they even invited Cory to their daughters baptism coming up! I love the fellowship in Oklahoma!
Yesterday we had a training from President and Sister Hugues, and let me tell ya, they know how to bring the Spirit so strong. They talked about the gathering of Israel, and how members of the church- especially missionaries- have the greatest opportunity to gather those who are not yet of His fold.
Isaiah 18:2 is now one of my favorite scriptures!
2 That sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and peeled, to a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden down, whose land the rivers have spoiled!
This entire world has people who need our light, who need some goodness shared. I’ve been thinking a lot about what a “swift messenger” is.
President Hugues said that swift messengers:
understand and internalize their missionary purpose (or purpose as a lifelong disciple of Jesus Christ)
understand the importance of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Teach the Book of Mormon and the Doctrine of Jesus Christ.
With that knowledge comes power and urgency to do the Lord’s work. Swift to me doesn’t only mean fast, but it means strong and smooth. Leaving no tables unturned, and everyone offered the peace and strength that the Savior and His gospel has to give.
In Matthew 28, Jesus invites us to be apart of the greatest work ever.
19 ¶ Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
It gives me chills every time, I love being a swift messenger of the Lord. I know that the gathering of Israel isn’t the end, but it’s the beginning of an eternity with a God who loves us more than we could possibly imagine. “That is God’s glory, His children gaining eternal life.” All of these things have everything to do with Missionary work, and everything to do with being a lifelong disciple of Jesus Christ. I love Him, and I’m so excited for the miracles that He has waiting for us as we come unto Him, and bring others with us.
Hope y’all have a great week! Find a way to serve someone!
God loves you and so do I!!
