Ticks, Tornadoes, Tender Mercies

Hey everyone! Quite a week. I made a goal for myself to be as bold (and loving) as I possibly can for the rest of my mission. God for sure gave me some opportunities.

☆PHOENICIA: okay. This lady. Several weeks ago, a girl in our ward gave us Phoenicia's phone number, but not really a lot of luck (that was over a month ago…) fast forward to Monday. We had a lesson canceled, and we had a specific prompting
to go to dinner early. (You know your girl likes to eat so no surprise there). We were biking, in the middle of the day, super hot outside. We saw a couple working on their car, and I felt a strong impression from the Spirit that the woman was Phoenicia. I thought to myself, “yeah right, fat chance that's Phoenicia.” I felt an even stronger impression to ask what her name was, and that was when I realized it was the Spirit, so I listened.
The conversation went a little bit like this:
“Hey! How are you?”
“Good, how are you girls?”
“Good! I'm Sister Jenni, what's your name?”
“Phoenicia.”
*Sister Jenni has a spiritual stroke of sorts.
“Phoenicia? You mean the Phoenicia we've been trying to get ahold of?”
“Ohh YOU'RE THE SISTERS! Teach me and my family the gospel!”
And now we are teaching her. She is elect, her husband is also willing to learn, and her children are precious. Every question she has is right in line of what we have planned to teach her. It's awesome.
I definitely got humbled a little bit with the Spirit there. So lessons learned, seek and expect miracles, and listen to the Spirit.
☆WE PUT PAUL ON DATE!!! We originally had planned to teach the plan of salvation, and during the lesson, I had a thought to invite him to be baptized June 1. I thought to myself, “okay I'll go for it, hope it's a Saturday.” When we asked him, he told us his heart was beating super fast. He told us he wants to get baptized so badly. We're so excited for him!

Other updates:
☆Sister Skarstedt got her first tick ever.
☆We had a 4th ward youth activity that I helped with. One part was eating a century egg and chicken liver. Most of the youth threw up, so did my companion. But I ate them both like a champ. I earned a lot of respect that night because I can eat gross food lol.
☆On Saturday night, 25 tornadoes went through Oklahoma. Norman was really lucky to only have 1 with minimal damage. Other areas, (I've heard Sulfur the most because it's in my Zone) got a lot of the damage and loss. So far, 4 people have lost their lives so far, and many more hurt. My heart aches for them.
I'm so thankful for the members and people in Oklahoma constantly offering us their shelters, keeping us updated on weather, and helping us to stay safe and secure. We sheltered with the Haycocks (senior missionaries in Norman.) They were making bread, which turned out to be the bomb.com. so good. Some missionaries sheltered in the baptismal font at the church, we were invited to join but decided not to since the tornado was going through right on the road we would be driving on, which would have been no bueno. Happy for promptings from the Holy Ghost.

Anywho, lots of tender mercies through all of this. Remember that you're loved, go serve someone this week. Pray for the okies please, especially those affected by tornadoes.

Jesus loves you and so so I!
