You Are His Light!

Howdy! Another great week in the work of the Lord!

☆Some more crazy storms in the area! We lost power for several hours, and flooding was pretty bad, but other than that we were all okay! We had a 2 hour drive that day, and we got a free car wash x5 to say the least haha.

☆We found a family who has been less active, and they want to come to church more often. They have 4 little girls so I fit right in. I love them! When we talked about being sealed as a family, their eyes lit up. No words.

☆I learned that in Texas, there's no beans in chili. Hmm. If there's beans, it's not chili.

☆Stake Conference was on Sunday! We had the opportunity to welcome Elder Lewis of the Seventy and his wife for the weekend. We went to the Leadership meeting (which was AMAZING) and the evening session. Lemme tell ya, Southern Linger Longers are INSANE. I probably gained 10 lbs and I don't regret it one bit. We learned about Christlike leadership and how we can show others that we love them. He gave us like 10 invitations (he told us there would be a lot in advance), and testified that Jesus is a God of miracles. My favorite invitation was him telling us that he knows we work so hard and sometimes don't see all the results we want. He said, “My last invitation to you is to hang in there. Jesus is the Christ, and you are His light. There will be someone who is the one.” I didn’t want the weekend to be over! He also took the time to meet every new member and non member after the Sunday session. He is so awesome!

Dana is our friend on date for baptism! We showed her the Rome, Italy temple virtual tour and the room filled with the Spirit. She is doing such a great job at preparing to make covenants with the Lord. Please please pray for her and her baby, Ivory!

I had a really cool thought with Elder Lewis. My companion and I didn't know what he looked like, and a whole bunch of men walked in. When they made their entrance, even though we didn't know who he was, the presence of the Priesthood and the Spirit was SO strong.

I wonder if that's what it's like for people who don't have the gift of the Holy Ghost when they run into us missionaries, or even someone who has the Priesthood or has the Spirit with them. Cool thought? I've been pondering about it lately. I want to be the kind of missionary and person that helps people feel the Spirit when I'm around them, and they can see the light of Christ in me. Let's all try to do that, okay? The best thing we can do is to become who Christ needs us to be- for others.

Anywho, that's all.

GOD LOVES YOU AND SO DO I!!
