The Gift Of Charity♡

Hey hey! Hope y'all have had a wonderful week! Mine's been amazing!

☆ THE 4TH OF JULY!!! oh it was so so fun. We had MLC in Edmond, and we all had a pancake breakfast together! I loved the special spirit that was there. It was a little sad to have my last MLC, but I've enjoyed every one, and learned so much. It took up pretty much the whole day since we drove for 6 hours total haha.

☆ We made so many friends, and met so many cool people! It was so cool to hear others stories, and to help them get just a little bit closer to Christ.

☆With the crazy heat, we've been trying to find some unique ways to find people to teach since people aren't outside a ton. Walking around the lake in the mornings and the Farmer's Market have been a Huge success! It's been so fun to find normal and natural ways to gather Israel!

☆ My last Zone Conference…I cried like a baby during every training, including during the one that I gave. I think I've been unofficially nominated as the mission's biggest crybaby. But the Spirit was so strong, and I learned so much that I can take with me for the rest of my life.

In Zone Conference, one thing that President Hugues trained on was charity. These words in 1 Corinthians 13 pierced my heart:

1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

All can act the part. All can “speak with the tongues of angels”, and have any spiritual gift from God. But the biggest gift that God gave us to become like Him is charity! I love how it says in the passage, “it profiteth me nothing”. This is a gift for US so that we can have true joy in doing the right things.

I'm thankful for the gift of charity, and the joy that it brings. I've noticed that as I seek to have more charity, I'm more joyful, at peace, and have an even bigger desire to be a better disciple of Jesus Christ.

My invitation is to pray for charity! There will be miracles and amazing insights had as you do so. I'd love to hear about your experiences!

God loves y'all and so do I!
