Week 1: Day 3

Image
Hello everyone! It’s so weird to think that I’ve been a missionary for only three days when I’ve learned so much! It's most definitely been the most exciting journey so far, but also the most tiring.  I got set apart Sunday morning by my super awesome stake president, such a holy and exciting experience. I felt God's love for me and my family, and I know for sure that I'm doing what He wants me to do. For you missionaries who have already been set apart, you know what I'm talking about. Future missionaries- buckle up because your heart just can't prepare for the joy and love you will feel. Because it's the best. thing. ever. Sooo many things have happened to me in the past couple days: -Got set apart as a missionary (yay!) -Said bye to my family (not yay.) -Went down to St. George for HMTC with Grandma and Grandpa -Woke up from Grandmas scary shower at 5:15 (iykyk) -Tried Gma and Gpas cool treadmill (I went to tokyo and hawaii, also didn't know that treadmil...

Set Apart Blessing

Sister Caitlynne Dawn Jenni, by the authority of the Melchizedek priesthood which we hold, we lay our hands upon your head to set you apart as a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Indeed called to wear the badge and to serve the Savior in the mighty work of a mission. You’re assigned to labor in the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma mission, and that will become one of the great blessings of your life. Caitlynne as you realize that you have been called to a place where you will find love, that you're able to offer and love that you're able to receive, you will be blessed and cared for. And we bless you that the ward families that you labor with will care and nurture you through any challenge or difficulty that you might face. You will receive strength from them. From their own faith and from the peace that you feel with them. They will surrogate your family. They will be your family. The closeness that you need. And they will strengthen you against ...

We had a few good long talks, gave a hitchhiker a ride and most of our food, and drove through the night. Running on just a few hours of sleep, we met my Grandpop in Denver, dropped off our vehicle to be shipped to Italy, and took the scenic route home, stopping by Saratoga, Wyoming.  The past couple of weeks have been full of lots of different feelings and emotions, mostly the excitement and anxiety of serving a mission, my family moving to another continent, and not knowing what I was going to talk about. Yet, in this tiny town, I had a sense of serenity and cl...
