6 Months!!

Image
I’ve hit 6 months!! Wahoo!! Six things that I've learned on my mission so far: -8 hours of sleep will never be enough for a missionary.  -There is a special place in Heaven for members who give missionaries rides. -The field really is white and ready to harvest. We just need to find those ready to hear the word.  -That hour of personal study is precious, because it's one on one time with Jesus, and the best part is: it's quiet.  -I don't need to know everything, I am called and authorized to teach simply and what Christ needs my friends to know.  -Praying in the closet is the best way to pray.  Highlights: ☆had the BEST EXCHANGE with Sister Dunn. We both played competitive soccer growing up, and even better, both played in Utah so we have the same pool of people we knew which is fun. We had an absolute ball, ran into some strange people, had crepes at a ranch in the middle of nowhere with the cutest family. Took pictures with a "caranchula" that did not turn o...

Hello Hello!  Wow. What a year this week has been. It's been so hard, yet so rewarding. This email won't be long because I am absolutely exhausted today, and p-day is nap day haha. I'll be honest, the mission is a hard, tiring experience. But it's also been the most rewarding and happiest time of my life. It's like parenting, except I get 8 hours of sleep every night. (And a ton of other differences)  The field is so white here, and I'm so happy to be a part of this work.  Highlights!  ☆we got to bike all day on Wednesday. I'm starting to like biking a lot haha.  ☆Spent an evening on OU campus, kind of a let down because we couldn't find our referral, but then he called us!... and then we sent his information to the Elders.  ☆ We had the Word of Wisdom talk with Kenneth. It went so well! He is so excited for his baptism.  ☆at a member dinner, we got to hold literally the biggest bunnies I've ever seen! ☆went to a restaurant called Sweet Basil, and it...

Blessed Referrals For Easter

HAPPY EASTER!! He is Risen!! Easter is the best time on the mission, hands down. Did lots of personal study on Holy Week, I love Jesus so much! Highlights: ☆We had Zone Conference!! One of my favorite events on the mission. We learned about our purpose as missionaries and how we were going to be urgent while fulfilling it.  ☆helped fill eggs with the youth for the Easter Walk. 3000 eggs…. ☆Gave a church tour to Jackson with the Dummers! He asked so many good questions, good thing Brother Dummer was there to help because we were stumped… ☆We got in touch with Kenzie!! She’s just been sick and is still totally interested! ☆Had a lesson with Deana, her daughter was there and she seemed pretty interested as well! ☆Got Kenneth on date for baptism! May 6 is the day! Please pray for him. He prayed for us, and called us precious servants of the Lord.  ☆met a pet turkey named Rigel. It was a really strange situation, Rigel is best friends with a huge pig. Only in Norman.  ☆Had the...

The Good News!

Howdy Howdy! GENERAL CONFERENCE WAS THE BEST!! As a missionary, you have the ability to not only receive revelation for yourself, but for your friends as well. It was amazing, and I can’t wait to use the insights I gained this week.  What is everyone’s favorite general conference tradition? We went to the Jensen’s house during the Sunday Afternoon session, and they adopted Sister Snelgrove's tradition of putting an Apostle’s name on every snack and when it was their turn to speak, everyone ate the snack. It was hilarious seeing their 11 year old girl get super excited when it was time for the Prophet to speak (he was the red vines…). I’m definitely using that with my future family. General Conference will be bigger than the SuperBowl in my home:) Highlights: ☆met President Monson's cousin while making visits ☆made a cute little sunshine basket for Kenzie, she's had a rough week.  ☆made 13 lcr visits in under 4 hours, it was exhausting and so rewarding. We found 2 unbaptized...
