Crumbs Of Bread

Image
Hey y’all! Super super short email this week, cuz we have been BUSY. * On Thursday, we had mlc and I got to see all of my besties! We counseled a lot on ways we can help the mission, and had a blast feeling the Spirit and receiving revelation together!  *On Tuesday, we had Zone Conference! I love giving trainings, and we trained on how we can help our friends repent. *saw my first gator, look at the pics;) *So many miles on bikes in the hot hot (but not yet Texas hot) weather, and I’ve never been happier doing so.  This week I’ve been pondering a lot on how God magnifies my efforts. We were just out walking and a dad with 2 kids talked to us and wanted to come to church. Another guy came up to us and wants to learn more as well. Both have the light of Christ and a desire to know more about Him. We really are just here for the ride:). Us as missionaries literally put a crumb on the altar and get an entire loaf of bread back! It reminds me of the story of the Loaves and Fishes. ...

Perfect Harmony

Howdy, yall! Holy cow. What a beginning of the transfer.  ☆my new companion is Sister Caporale! We are 2 peas in a pod. Imagine a mix of Sister Allen and Sister Rasmussen, and you've got it. I call her Sister Capdawg, and she calls me Sister Jendawg. Love her. In 5 days we've driven around 15 hours together, lots of good and funny talks.  ☆Texas is such a blessed state. We have SO MANY PEOPLE in our teaching pool (not even joking, 34 people) I love the people so so much already.  ☆we had MLC with Elder Schmutz of the 70, it was so special to be with a General Authority. He is so tender and loving to everyone, what a blessing it was to spend an afternoon with him. I'm running out of time here but I know that God is so aware of the big details, and the little details. I've had a couple of cool experiences that have helped me to remember. Elder Schmutz talked about when his son served a mission, he called and said that he felt like he was in “perfect harmony” with God. To ...

Howdy y’all! So. Many. Things. This week. So we will go straight into it.  ☆Thursday was Sister Skarstedt’s birthday! We had a wonderful day celebrating her by working our consecrated buns off. It was awesome, so many tender mercies. We ran into the pentecostal family and they gave us wings and we taught a lesson! ☆Spent tons of time with the Norman 1 elders in pass off lessons because we passed of literally ⅓ of our friends to them. Boo but thats okay.  ☆So many miracles that reminded me that God is aware, and that He loves.  ☆Said bye to the Dummers so now we are a bit emo inside.  ☆ I got to be a part of Sister Allen's special day in spirit! I'm so thankful for friends like her. She was my comp over a year ago and I just adore her! Something I’ve been focusing on lately was a quote that our friend Justin said, “if it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing poorly.” That just seems backwards, right? I like it because I have a lot of perfectionist tendencies. I get too stre...

Armadillo's & Tornadoes

Image
Hey y'all! Hope you've had an awesome week! Here's mine... ☆I saw a live armadillo for the first time! Literally no one sees them since they’re nocturnal, and one was caught in a trap at the Stanfield’s house! Bucket List item=completed! ☆More tornadoes! We ended up staying at the Stanfield’s house overnight because storms were expected in the middle of the night. We were okay, but big prayers for the Bartlesville area and other areas too. ☆Cleveland County’s National Day of Prayer was on May 2, it was so cool to have leaders in our community gather to pray for specific needs of the county. Brother Balkman (a judge here in Norman) invited us to attend. We talked to a lot of people, and even got some phone numbers! ☆I played the Didgeridoo at the Stanfield’s, they lived in Australia for several years and brought back a lot of fun memories and trinkets! I’m a lot better than when I tried last year, so I’m calling it a win! ☆for those of you who know… I got myplan… oh boy. It’...

Ticks, Tornadoes, Tender Mercies

Hey everyone! Quite a week. I made a goal for myself to be as bold (and loving) as I possibly can for the rest of my mission. God for sure gave me some opportunities. ☆PHOENICIA: okay. This lady. Several weeks ago, a girl in our ward gave us Phoenicia's phone number, but not really a lot of luck (that was over a month ago…) fast forward to Monday. We had a lesson canceled, and we had a specific prompting  to go to dinner early. (You know your girl likes to eat so no surprise there). We were biking, in the middle of the day, super hot outside. We saw a couple working on their car, and I felt a strong impression from the Spirit that the woman was Phoenicia. I thought to myself, “yeah right, fat chance that's Phoenicia.” I felt an even stronger impression to ask what her name was, and that was when I realized it was the Spirit, so I listened.   The conversation went a little bit like this: “Hey! How are you?” “Good, how are you girls?” “Good! I'm Sister Jenni, what's your ...
